TE Connectivity FRN25 Series 0.25W Fusible Flame-proof Resistors

The FRN series of flame-proof fusible resistors are a superior quality resistor with excellent fusing characteristics for overload conditions. Flame-proof during fusing, the FRN series are ideal for use in safety-critical and circuit protection applications. These resistors fuse in less than 60 seconds at 16 times rated power.

The resistive element in the FRN series comprises of a resistive film sputtered onto a ceramic element. Metal end caps are force fitted to the element prior to spiralling. Tinned copper lead wires are welded to the end caps and the components are then coated with four layers of a flame-proof cement. All resistors are tested for value and tolerance. The technology allows the manufacture of fusible characteristics.

Fusible, Axial

The FRN series of fusible resistors will function as normal resistors under specified operating conditions. Under overload conditions, they will act as a fuse and blow open circuit. The special coating ensures that they are flameproof during operation. They are therefore ideal for use in safety critical and circuit protection applications where non-flammable fusing is required.
